AN ACT to appropriate funds for the outdoor heritage advisory council.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.(a)  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Wildlife Resources Commission the sum of ten million dollars ($10,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year to be allocated to the Outdoor Heritage Advisory Council and to be used as follows:

(1)        $8,000,000 for the North Carolina GO Outside Grant Program to provide local opportunities for young people to reengage with learning experiences in safe outdoor settings.

(2)        $2,000,000 to support programs, public engagement, and outreach.

SECTION 1.(b)  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Wildlife Resources Commission the sum of three hundred ninety‑three thousand nine hundred twenty dollars ($393,920) in recurring funds for each fiscal year of the 2021‑2023 fiscal biennium to provide support for the operation of the Outdoor Heritage Advisory Council, including the salaries and benefits of Council personnel.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
