AN ACT to require county boards of election directors to notify the state board of Elections of failures to file required campaign finance reports.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. Article 22A of Chapter 163 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:
§ 163‑278.23A. Duties of the county board.
On the schedule prescribed by the State Board, it shall be the duty and power of each county board of elections director to notify the State Board of all failures to file reports, statements, or other documents required by this Article.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2023, and applies to reports due on or after that date under Article 22A of Chapter 163 of the General Statutes.
