AN ACT to appropriate funds for north carolina agricultural and technical state university to recruit faculty and staff and to continue and upgrade critical research labs and educational spaces.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the following sums for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to be allocated to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University for the following purposes:

(1)        Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) in recurring funds to recruit faculty and staff for new and existing programs.

(2)        Five million dollars ($5,000,000) in nonrecurring funds to upgrade research labs and educational spaces.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
