AN ACT appropriating funds to crossnore communities for children to address THE foster care crisis in north carolina.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to Crossnore Communities for Children, a nonprofit organization, to support the organization in providing services that are designed to address the foster care crisis in the State. These services would be open to children from all across North Carolina and be delivered from Winston‑Salem in Forsyth County, Crossnore in Avery County, and Hendersonville in Henderson County.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
