AN ACT to appropriate funds for critical capital infrastructure and repairs and renovation projects at certain North Carolina Independent colleges and universities institutions.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the State Capital and Infrastructure Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of sixteen million dollars ($16,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to be allocated as a grant to North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities to be provided equally for capital improvement projects at each of the following institutions:

(1)        Bennett College.

(2)        Johnson C. Smith University.

(3)        Livingstone College.

(4)        Saint Augustine's University.

(5)        Shaw University.

(6)        Chowan University.

(7)        Louisburg College.

(8)        North Carolina Wesleyan University.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
