AN ACT to appropriate funds for a TRANSPorTatION study in the town of butner.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to the Town of Butner to study transportation improvements, regional stormwater devices, development and redevelopment opportunities, and related land development ordinance text amendments related to property and infrastructure in the vicinity of Exit 189 and Central Ave./Gate 2 Rd. to provide for the enhanced utilization of State, federal, and privately owned property in the vicinity of Butner and to enhance regional economic development efforts.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
