AN ACT to direct the general statutes commission to review the term drug abuse wherever it appears in the general statutes and to recommend a bill to replace it with the term substance use disorder, where appropriate.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  The General Statutes Commission shall review the term drug abuse wherever it appears in the General Statutes and shall recommend a bill for the 2024 Regular Session of the 2023 General Assembly that would replace it with the term substance use disorder, where appropriate.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
