AN ACT to appropriate funds for the washington‑warren and hyde county airports.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of seventeen million dollars ($17,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to the Washington‑Warren Airport Authority to acquire real property and to build a new STEM Education Center, Southern Atlantic Drone Workforce and Data Fusion Center, additional hangars, and related facilities for the expansion of the airport.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of two million dollars ($2,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to the Hyde County Airport for the expansion and development of the Hyde County Airport and related facilities to accommodate drone technology and general drone aviation.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
