H380: Provide Support to Jail Inspectors. Latest Version
Session: 2023 - 2024
AN ACT to appropriate funds to hire two additional statewide jail inspectors due to the increased time required for those inspections resulting from the growing complexity of inmate health and safety regulations.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Services Regulation, Construction Section, the sum of two hundred eleven thousand five hundred two dollars ($211,502) in recurring funds for each year of the 2023‑2025 fiscal biennium to be used to hire two full‑time Jail Inspectors to perform inspections of local confinement facilities as required by G.S. 153A‑222.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
