AN ACT to require A passenger of A vehicle in AN accident to provide driver information to law enforcement.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 20‑166.2 reads as rewritten:
§ 20‑166.2. Duty of passenger to remain at the scene of an accident.

(c) A passenger subject to the requirements of subsection (a) of this section shall provide the driver's name, date of birth or approximate age, address, and phone number at the time of the accident to the investigating law enforcement officer, if known.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective December 1, 2023, and applies to incidents occurring on or after that date.
