AN ACT to appropriate funds for the steele creek volunteer fire and rescue service.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of four million dollars ($4,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to the Steele Creek Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Inc., a nonprofit organization, to support the needs of the fire department, including the purchase of a SCBA (Self‑Contained Breathing Apparatus), a new ladder truck, a fire/rescue boat, and real property/building for training, and the construction of a new boathouse for a fire boat.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
