AN ACT To study the extension of Linville Springs Road to the Macy Grove Road extension in Forsyth County.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the Highway Fund to the Department of Transportation the sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to study the extension of Linville Springs Road to the Macy Grove Road extension in Forsyth County. The study shall determine the estimated design and build cost of the extension on the Department's current schedule, and on an accelerated time line, and any other related issues as determined by the Department. The Department shall report its findings to the Joint Legislative Transportation Oversight Committee and the Fiscal Research Division by February 1, 2024.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
