SENATE BILL 203

AN ACT authorizing polk county to prohibit or restrict skateboarding.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Polk County may, by ordinance, prohibit or restrict the use of skateboards on any public street or road within the county. By ordinance, Polk County may specify the (i) streets or roads where skateboarding is prohibited, (ii) persons authorized to use a skateboard, (iii) equipment required when a person uses a skateboard, and (iv) hours and method of use of a skateboard.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law, but any ordinance adopted by Polk County pursuant to this act may not become effective prior to October 1, 2023.
