AN ACT to appropriate funds for certain capital improvement projects at north carolina Central University.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding G.S. 143C‑5‑2, there is appropriated from the General Fund to North Carolina Central University the sum of two hundred seventy‑five million dollars ($275,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to be allocated in the following amounts for the following capital improvement projects:

(1)        One hundred forty million dollars ($140,000,000) for a convocation center.

(2)        Thirty‑five million dollars ($35,000,000) for the McDougald‑McLendon Arena Expansion.

(3)        Thirty‑five million dollars ($35,000,000) for O'Kelly‑Riddick Stadium.

(4)        Fifty‑five million dollars ($55,000,000) for the Health and Human Performance Center.

(5)        Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) for land acquisition.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
