AN ACT to prohibit the redesignation of fayetteville state university as any other name as a CONSTITUENT institution of the university of north carolina.



The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:



SECTION 1.  Part 2 of Article 1 of Chapter 116 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:



§ 116‑4.2.  Prohibit redesignation of Fayetteville State University.



As provided in G.S. 116‑4, the legal name of Fayetteville State University is Fayetteville State University and therefore it shall not be redesignated as any other name as a constituent institution of The University of North Carolina.



SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
