H52: Funds for Davie County Projects. Latest Version
2023-2024
AN ACT to appropriate funds for various projects in davie county.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Office of State Budget and Management the sum of twenty million seven hundred eighty‑eight thousand nine hundred fifty dollars ($20,788,950) in nonrecurring funds for the 2023‑2024 fiscal year to provide a directed grant to Davie County for the following purposes:
(1) $12,000,000 to assist in the funding of a new detention center.
(2) $1,200,000 to upgrade or purchase new generators for emergency use.
(3) $944,950 to assist the county's Emergency Medical Services in purchasing quick response vehicles, ambulances, cardiac monitors, bariatric stretchers, and other equipment to safely transport patients during emergencies.
(4) $440,000 to upgrade the radio and communication equipment for the various public safety departments in the county.
(5) $400,000 to maintain, upgrade, and renovate various county facilities, including the county's annex building and the public library.
(6) $350,000 to reconfigure the current detention center site for other public purposes.
(7) $500,000 to renovate the Brock Building, which serves as an emergency shelter and houses the Arts Council and various other county services.
(8) $500,000 to purchase and install outdoor lighting for the baseball field at the Community Park.
(9) $304,000 to provide new scanning equipment for the Sheriff's Office.
(10) $350,000 to upgrade the county's core computing and storage systems.
(11) $3,800,000 to upgrade the technology for and renovate portions of the county courthouse.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2023.
