A HOUSE RESOLUTION observing JUNE 14 AS FLAG DAY.

Whereas, on June 14, 1777, Congress adopted a flag for the United States; and

Whereas, the United States flag has served as a symbol of pride for all Americans for 245 years and as a uniting force for the country during times of conflict; and

Whereas, on August 3, 1949, Congress enacted legislation approving the national observance of Flag Day on June 14 of each year; and

Whereas, observing Flag Day is a way for the citizens of this State to show their respect for and devotion to our Nation's flag; Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

SECTION 1.  The House of Representatives joins the Nation in observing June 14, 2022, as Flag Day.

SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon adoption.
