H1132: HMSI Cybersecurity Funds. Latest Version
2021-2022
AN ACT to appropriate funds for cybersecurity improvements at constituent institutions of the university of north carolina identified as public historically minority‑serving institutions.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year the sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) in nonrecurring funds to be allocated in proportional amounts to each public Historically Minority‑Serving Institution (HMSI) that is a constituent institution of The University of North Carolina for cybersecurity improvements needed to address domestic threats to those institutions. For purposes of this section, the following constituent institutions are identified as public HMSIs: Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, North Carolina Central University, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Winston‑Salem State University.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
