AN ACT to appropriate funds for water and Wastewater SYStem capital improvements for the City of Graham and the town of haw river.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the City of Graham the nonrecurring sum of forty million dollars ($40,000,000) for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year. To the extent available, the Office of State Budget and Management may use funds reverted under Section 12.13(e) of S.L. 2021‑180 to carry out the appropriation made by this act. The city shall use these funds for upgrades to its wastewater treatment plant. Funds appropriated in this act do not revert but remain available to the city for the purposes allowed in this act.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Town of Haw River the nonrecurring sum of fifteen million five hundred thousand dollars ($15,500,000) for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year. To the extent available, the Office of State Budget and Management may use funds reverted under Section 12.13(e) of S.L. 2021‑180 to carry out the appropriation made by this act. The town shall use these funds for replacement and extension of water lines and pump stations and for repairs to sewer lines to reduce inflow and infiltration.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
