AN ACT to appropriate funds for capital projects at vance‑granville community college campuses to create a stronger workforce and to enhance the economy for the communities served by the community college.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.(a)  There is appropriated from the State Capital and Infrastructure Fund to the North Carolina Community Colleges System Office the sum of ten million dollars ($10,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to be allocated to Vance‑Granville Community College for capital projects described in this section.

SECTION 1.(b)  Vance‑Granville Community College shall use funds allocated under this section as follows:

(1)        Two million dollars ($2,000,000) to construct a new building on the VGCC Franklin Campus that will add new classroom space and updated biopharma, bioprocessing, and biomanufacturing training facilities.

(2)        Six million dollars ($6,000,000) to construct an advanced manufacturing center in Granville County.

(3)        Two million dollars ($2,000,000) to support the establishment of a diesel automotive program for regional trucking transportation training, including a mobile facility, paving, and other site development activities.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
