S813: Water Infrastructure Funds. Latest Version
2021-2022
AN ACT to appropriate funds to address water infrastructure needs within cumberland county.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the City of Fayetteville the nonrecurring sum of twenty‑eight million three hundred thousand dollars ($28,300,000) for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to be allocated as follows:
(1) $20,000,000 for repairs or upgrades to dams categorized by the Department of Environmental Quality as high hazard that are either located in or upstream of the corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville.
(2) $8,300,000 for water infrastructure improvements for the areas in and around, but not limited to, Wayland Drive and Rhemish Drive in the city.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated from the General Fund to Cumberland County the nonrecurring sum of ninety‑five million dollars ($95,000,000) for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year. The county shall use these funds for countywide water infrastructure projects.
SECTION 3. Funds appropriated in this act do not revert but remain available to the city for the purposes allowed in this act.
SECTION 4. This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
