AN ACT to assist expecting mothers with substance use disorder and their families through the substance use network (SUN) PROJECT by increasing the counties served.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services, the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to be allocated as a directed grant to Cabarrus County to be used to operate and expand the Substance Use Network (SUN) project in order to build a collaborative system of care for pregnant mothers with a substance use disorder, and their infants and families, in Cabarrus, Rowan, and Stanly Counties.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
