AN ACT to appropriate funds for the innovative signature career academy program in guilford county schools.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) in nonrecurring funds to be provided to Guilford County Schools as a directed grant to support the Innovative Signature Career Academy Program established pursuant to Section 7.72 of S.L. 2021‑180. The funds shall be used to support the hosting of up to six signature career academies that specialize in defined areas of career and technical education at traditional high schools located in the local school administrative unit.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
