AN ACT requiring that special provisions contained in the current operations appropriations act IDENTIFY the legislators who requested the provisions and appropriating funds for that purpose.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Article 5A of Chapter 120 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:

§ 120‑19.10.  Budget special provisions require identification of requesting committee members.

The name of each standing Appropriations committee or subcommittee member who requests that a special provision be included in the Current Operations Appropriations Act (Act) shall appear in the caption of each special provision, along with the provision title, in each iteration of the drafting of the Act, including the ratified version that becomes law.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to the General Assembly the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to fund the computer software upgrades required by this act.

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
