AN ACT to require the removal or replacement of all voting equipment containing a modem.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  In accordance with G.S. 163‑165.7(j) and notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the State Board of Elections shall require that all voting equipment used for elections in this State containing a modem be removed or replaced by September 16, 2022. The State Board of Elections shall submit a report to the Joint Legislative Elections Oversight Committee by November 1, 2022, on the removal or replacement of voting equipment required by this section. The report shall include, at a minimum, each of the following:

(1)        The county in which the voting equipment was removed or replaced.

(2)        The date the equipment was removed or replaced.

(3)        The amount of voting equipment removed or replaced, by county.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
