HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 975
A JOINT RESOLUTION providing for the confirmation of the appointment of Karen m. kemerait to the utilities commission.
Whereas, under the provisions of G.S. 62‑10, appointments made by the Governor to membership on the North Carolina Utilities Commission are subject to confirmation by the General Assembly by joint resolution; and
Whereas, a vacancy has occurred due to the expiration of the term of Lyons Gray; and
Whereas, the Governor has submitted to the presiding officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives the appointment of Karen M. Kemerait to serve a term that commenced July 1, 2021, and expires June 30, 2027, on the North Carolina Utilities Commission; Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
SECTION 1. The appointment of Karen M. Kemerait of Wake County to the North Carolina Utilities Commission for a term that began July 1, 2021, and expires June 30, 2027, is confirmed.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective upon ratification.
In the General Assembly read three times and ratified this the 10th day of March, 2022.
