AN ACT to appropriate funds from the Opioid abatement reserve to establish an INSTITUTE at the university of north carolina at greensboro to prevent and treat opioid misuse.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  To the extent sufficient funds are available for this purpose, there is appropriated from the Opioid Abatement Reserve to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year the sum of ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to be allocated to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to establish an institute at the university to prevent and treat opioid misuse. These funds shall be used to establish an integrated continuum of prevention, intervention, and recovery support services, including improved data collection and analysis and ongoing training and technical assistance services.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
