H1009: Funds for Ready for School, Ready for Life. Latest Version
2021-2022
AN ACT to appropriate funds to ready for school, ready for life in guilford county to continue support of a data analytics system for early childhood development programs and a high‑quality early childhood care and education pilot program.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to Ready for School, Ready for Life (Organization), a nonprofit organization that provides a system of care for children prenatally to 5 years of age in Guilford County to improve outcomes and school readiness, a directed grant for the sum of one million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to be allocated as follows:
(1) The sum of one million twenty‑five thousand dollars ($1,025,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to continue support for the building, testing, and improving of an integrated data system technology for the purpose of providing empirical data for decision making and in furtherance of securing funding for future phases with the Duke Endowment and Blue Meridian Partners for the Get Ready Guilford Initiative.
(2) The sum of five hundred seventy‑five thousand dollars ($575,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to continue implementing a three‑year pilot program for improving the quality of care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschool‑age children in Guilford County.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2022.
