AN ACT to appropriate funds to polk county for high‑risk dam repairs.

Whereas, Polk County owns the Lake Adger Dam and is responsible for repairs and upkeep; and

Whereas, Lake Adger is open to the public and utilized by citizens of Polk County; and

Whereas, Lake Adger Dam is classified as a high‑risk dam due to the potential damage if repairs are not made and the dam were to malfunction; Now, therefore,

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is appropriated from the General Fund to Polk County the sum of six million dollars ($6,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year for the purpose of repairing the Lake Adger Dam.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
