House
AN ACT to penalize the use of a high‑occupancy toll lane in violation of a condition set by the Toll Authority.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 136‑89.199 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:
(c) Penalty. – A failure to meet a requirement or condition while using a designated lane under subsection (a) of this section is an infraction.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective December 1, 2021, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
