A SENATE RESOLUTION TO NOT CONFIRM Dionne Delli‑Gatti as secretary of the department of Environmental quality.

Whereas, pursuant to G.S. 143B‑9(a), the Governor shall notify the President of the Senate of the name of each person to be nominated as head of a principal State department; and

Whereas, each nomination is subject to senatorial advice and consent in conformance with Section 5(8) of Article III of the North Carolina Constitution; and

Whereas, a vacancy occurred when the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality resigned; and

Whereas, under G.S. 143B‑9(a), the Governor is authorized to make an appointment to such a vacancy pending further action by the Senate; and

Whereas, the Governor has appointed Dionne Delli‑Gatti to serve as Secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality pending further action by the Senate; Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

SECTION 1.  Having given due consideration to the matter, the Senate specifically disapproves of and does not consent to the appointment of Dionne Delli‑Gatti as Secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality.

SECTION 1.5.  The Senate therefore does not confirm Dionne Delli-Gatti as Secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality.

SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon adoption.
