AN ACT to PROVIDE FUNDS TO ENSURE THAT EV CHARGING STATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT STATE PARKS.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.(a)  The sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year is appropriated to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to be allocated to the Division of Parks and Recreation. The Division shall use these funds to provide electric vehicle charging stations at units of the State Parks System that do not already have an electric vehicle charging station.

SECTION 1.(b)  For purposes of this section, electric vehicle charging station means charging equipment installed adjacent to a space in a parking lot designated for the purposes of electric vehicle charging that has as its primary purpose the transfer of electric energy to a battery or other energy storage device in an electric vehicle.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
