H639: Funds for Opioid Abuse Treatment Centers. Latest Version
2021-2022
AN ACT appropriating funds to the department of health and human services, division of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services, to support opioid use disorder treatment centers.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1.(a) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services (DMH/DD/SAS), the sum of four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) in recurring funds and the sum of nine million one hundred eighty thousand sixty‑six dollars ($9,180,066) in nonrecurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year to be allocated to designated nonprofit corporations that provide opioid use disorder treatment as follows:
(1) $400,000 in recurring funds to Bridge to Recovery, Inc.
(2) $50,000 in nonrecurring funds to Safer Communities Ministry, Inc.
(3) $1,000,000 in nonrecurring funds to Gateway of Hope.
(4) $5,000,000 in nonrecurring funds to Healing Transitions International, Inc.
(5) $1,130,066 in nonrecurring funds to Will's Place, Inc.
(6) $2,000,000 in nonrecurring funds to Addiction Recovery Care Association, Inc.
SECTION 1.(b) By April 1, 2022, each recipient of State funds allocated under subsection (a) of this section shall submit to the DMH/DD/SAS a detailed report on the expenditure of these allocated funds. By May 1, 2022, the DMH/DD/SAS shall submit this information in a report to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services and the Fiscal Research Division.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
