AN ACT to fund the research and development of AN electric vertical takEoff and landing (eVTOL) system.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Of the funds appropriated from the Highway Fund to the Department of Transportation for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year, the sum of five million dollars ($5,000,000) in recurring funds shall be allocated to AeroX as a grant‑in‑aid for the AeroX incubation project to develop the nation's first unmanned electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) system.

SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
