H599: Vets/Mil. Free Admission State Attractions. Latest Version
Session: 2021 - 2022
AN ACT Authorizing the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to provide active military service members and veterans free admission to state attractions administered by the department.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources shall not charge an active military service member or veteran of the United States Armed Forces who is a resident of this State an admission fee to any State attraction administered by it. The Department may require proof that a person is an active military service member or a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and may designate forms of identification that will constitute sufficient evidence of this fact. The Department shall charge an immediate family member of an active military service member or veteran of the United States Armed Forces a discounted admission fee to State attractions administered by it, provided the Department discounts the admission fee for an immediate family member currently. For purposes of this section, Armed Forces means the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard, including their reserve components.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
