AN ACT recognizing Juneteenth as a Day of Observance in the State of North Carolina.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Chapter 103 of the General Statutes is amended by adding a new section to read:

§ 103‑16.  Juneteenth observance.

The nineteenth day of June of each year is designated as Juneteenth Observance Day in North Carolina.

SECTION 2.  S.L. 2007‑450 is repealed.

SECTION 3.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
