AN ACT to appropriate funds for legislatively mandated salary increases for community college personnel.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1.(a) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Community Colleges System Office the sum of eighty‑four million three thousand six hundred eighty‑two dollars ($84,003,682) in recurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year to fund legislatively mandated salary increases for local community college personnel in the amount of seven percent (7%), effective July 1, 2021.
SECTION 1.(b) The legislative salary increases provided by subsection (a) of this section do not apply to persons separated from service due to resignation, dismissal, reduction in force, death, or retirement or whose last workday is prior to June 30, 2021. Payroll checks issued to employees after July 1, 2021, that represent payment of services provided prior to July 1, 2021, are not eligible for the salary increase provided for in this section.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
