AN ACT to provide funds for the planning and CONSTRUCTION of a new brody school of medicine at east carolina university.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  There is transferred from the General Fund to the State Capital and Infrastructure Fund the sum of (i) fifteen million dollars ($15,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year and (ii) thirteen million dollars ($13,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated from the State Capital and Infrastructure Fund to the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina the sum of (i) fifteen million dollars ($15,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2021‑2022 fiscal year to provide funds for the planning of a new Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and (ii) thirteen million dollars ($13,000,000) in nonrecurring funds for the 2022‑2023 fiscal year to provide funds for the construction of a new Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The total amount authorized for the project is two hundred fifteen million dollars ($215,000,000).

SECTION 3.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
