H834: Sportsman's Voter Act. Latest Version

AN ACT to require each person seeking a hunting or fishing license in this state be offered an opportunity to register to vote and to participate in the organ donor registry.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 113‑275 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:
(l) A person applying for any license under this Article shall be offered an opportunity to register to vote pursuant to G.S. 163‑82.19 and to participate in the Organ Donor Registry internet site established pursuant to G.S. 20‑43.2. After consultation with the State Board of Elections and the Division of Motor Vehicles, the Wildlife Resources Commission shall adopt rules for compliance with this subsection.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025, and applies to licenses issued under Chapter 113 of the General Statutes on or after that date.
