2025-2026
AN ACT to require each person seeking a hunting or fishing license in this state be offered an opportunity to register to vote and to participate in the organ donor registry.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. G.S. 113‑275 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:

For persons applying online for a license or permit under this Article, the Commission shall work with the State Board of Elections to mail a voter registration form to any person opting to receive a voter registration form. After consultation with the State Board of Elections and the Division of Motor Vehicles, the Wildlife Resources Commission shall adopt rules for compliance with this subsection.
SECTION 1.5. Nothing in this act shall be construed to expand or otherwise authorize online voter registration.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025, and applies to licenses issued under Chapter 113 of the General Statutes on or after that date.
