A SENATE RESOLUTION relating to the appointment, nomination, and confirmation of Gabriel J. Esparza as secretary of the department of Administration.



Whereas, pursuant to G.S. 143B‑9(a), the Governor shall notify the President of the Senate of the name of each person to be nominated as head of a principal State department; and



Whereas, each nomination is subject to senatorial advice and consent in conformance with Section 5(8) of Article III of the North Carolina Constitution; and



Whereas, the Governor has appointed Gabriel J. Esparza to serve as Secretary of the Department of Administration pending further action by the Senate; Now, therefore,



Be it resolved by the Senate:



SECTION 1.  That the Senate shall hereby consider whether to confirm Gabriel J. Esparza as Secretary of the Department of Administration.



SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon adoption.
