AN ACT to appropriate funds to the Fayetteville Public Works Commission for water and wastewater projects.



The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:



SECTION 1.  The sum of fifty‑seven million five hundred thirty‑one thousand three hundred dollars ($57,531,300) in nonrecurring funds for the 2024‑2025 fiscal year is appropriated from the General Fund to the Fayetteville Public Works Commission (Commission) to be allocated as follows:



(1)        Fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) for installation of granular activated carbon filtration systems required at two of the Commission's drinking water treatment facilities for removal of PFAS to meet new federal drinking water standards.



(2)        Seven million five hundred thirty‑one thousand three hundred dollars ($7,531,300) for enhancements to the Big Rockfish Creek wastewater outfall to address population growth along the Interstate 295 corridor.



SECTION 2.  This act becomes effective July 1, 2024.
