H927: Body Cameras/Cloud Storage for State Troopers. Latest Version
Session: 2023 - 2024
AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS to the state highway patrol for the expanded use and cloud storage of body‑worn cameras and the cloud storage of vehicle cameras.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Safety, State Highway Patrol, the sum of nine hundred ninety‑three thousand six hundred dollars ($993,600) in recurring funds and three million one hundred fifty‑two thousand seven hundred forty‑eight dollars ($3,152,748) in nonrecurring funds for the 2024‑2025 fiscal year to be used for the purchase of body‑worn cameras and associated video storage costs.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Public Safety, State Highway Patrol, the sum of one million four hundred thousand dollars ($1,400,000) in recurring funds for the 2024‑2025 fiscal year to be used for the cloud storage of data obtained by State Highway Patrol vehicle cameras.
SECTION 3. This act becomes effective July 1, 2024.
