SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 755
A JOINT RESOLUTION Providing for the confirmation of the governor's appointment of Quintin McGee as a Special Superior Court Judge.
Whereas, under the provisions of G.S. 7A‑45.1(a10), as special superior court judgeships become vacant, the Governor shall submit the names of his nominees for those judgeships to the General Assembly for confirmation by ratified joint resolution; and
Whereas, the Governor wishes to appoint Quintin McGee to fill a vacancy that occurred on July 1, 2023, due to the retirement of the Honorable Stanley Carmichael; and
Whereas, the Governor has submitted to the presiding officers of the Senate and the House of Representatives the name of his nominee for a term as a special superior court judge; Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
SECTION 1. The General Assembly confirms the appointment of Quintin McGee as a special superior court judge, whose term of office shall commence on the date of the appointment by the Governor and shall end eight years from the appointment.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective upon ratification.
