Ask members of the NC House to join as cosponsors of nonprofit sales tax exemption legislation (HB 882).
Yesterday, four members of the NC House of Representatives took a big step toward remedying one of the biggest financial and administrative burdens faced by nonprofits by filing a bill (H.B. 882) to create a true nonprofit sales tax exemption in North Carolina.
Now it’s your turn to take the next step:
Please take a few moments to ask your House member to join as a cosponsor of the bill.
If you are one of the many, many nonprofit organizations across the state that’s lost precious time and money jumping through red tape to keep track of your sales tax payments and apply for a refund, we encourage you to add a personal anecdote as well – those stories make a huge difference!
This is a truly time-sensitive request: the deadline for House members to join as cosponsors is Thursday, April 27 at 5 p.m.
